    {Local: Al Furat News} The Border Ports Authority announced, on Sunday, seizing and thwarting an attempt to cheat, manipulate and waste public money with more than 12 million Iraqi dinars.
    A statement by the authority, which {Euphrates News} received a copy of, stated that "the efforts of the Border Ports Authority continue to confront attempts of fraud and manipulation and to prevent attempts to waste public money, as the northern port of Umm Qasr port was able to seize a container outside the customs campus in the search and investigation gate."
     The statement added: "Through detection and audit procedures, it was found that there were unauthorized hidden materials, and a referral was made to the existence of fraud in the customs declaration, which caused a waste of public money in an amount estimated at more than (12) million Iraqi dinars."
    He pointed out that "a fundamentalist seizure report was organized and referred to the investigating judge to take legal measures against the violators."
