    {Local: Al Furat News} The Government Media Cell announced, on Tuesday, that it had seized and thwarted an attempt to smuggle medicines and medical supplies at the northern port of Umm Qasr port.
    In a statement, Al-Furat News received a copy of it, the cell stated that "in continuation of the tasks entrusted to the Border Ports Authority, in following up and prosecuting the smuggling of goods prohibited for export and import through land, sea and air ports."
    She added, "The owners of the northern port of Umm Qasr port, with the follow-up of the head of the authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, were able to seize a container intended for smuggling."
    And she indicated, "By examining the seized container, it was found that it contained (human medicines, medical supplies) in violation of the terms and controls of import, which negatively reflects on the health and safety of citizens, and was hidden behind the declared materials."
    The statement indicated that "a fundamentalist seizure report was organized with the aforementioned articles, and referred to the judiciary, to take legal measures against violators."
