    {Political: Al Furat News} Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and US Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller stressed the importance of the region's participation in the Iraqi-American strategic dialogue.
    A statement issued by the Presidency of the Region stated that the two parties "discussed the meeting of the Iraqi-American strategic dialogue, the agreement between the two sides, the reformulation of their relations, the next phase of it, the internal conditions of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in general, the upcoming Iraqi elections and the future of the political process in the country, the latest developments in the war." Against terrorism, confronting ISIS and its dangers, the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic and the vaccination campaign against the disease.”

    The US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Robert Palladino, attended the meeting, according to the statement, while "the importance of the Kurdistan Region's participation in the strategic dialogue and the reorganization of Iraq's relations with America was emphasized within the framework of this dialogue and on the basis of common interests."

    Barzani considered the Iraqi-American strategic dialogue "important, not only from the military and defense side, but also from the cultural, economic, educational and other aspects as well as to help and support Iraq."

    In turn, the US ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to supporting Iraq and the Kurdistan region and cooperating with the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga, saying: America looks at Iraq out of interest in the stability of the region.

    According to a statement by the Kurdistan Region Presidency, Tueller referred to his meeting today with a group of activists and representatives of various religions and sects in the Kurdistan Region and beneficiaries of one of his country’s programs that help young people in various fields and secure human development for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, in addition to praising the culture of coexistence, acceptance of others and tolerance in Kurdistan Region.

    The two sides stressed the "importance of protecting this culture, rights and freedoms."

    The two sides touched on "the method and importance of implementing the agreement to normalize the situation of Sinjar between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, the relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan region with neighboring countries, the situation in Syria, the importance of security and stability, the latest developments in the region in general, and a set of issues of common interest to both sides," according to the statement.
