The spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, said Thursday (August 12, 2021) that the ministry needs to appoint new numbers of young people and employees to work in the supervisory authority to curb food smuggling, high prices and food security .
In an interview with IQ News , Hanoun said  , "The Ministry of Commerce is seeking, in cooperation with the competent authorities, to increase its proactive tours in stores and shops to curb the process of food smuggling  ."
He pointed out that "the smuggling process may take place by means of buying and selling between the citizen, or between the agent of the ration quota and the private stores, and then it is sold to other regions," noting that "every participant in the smuggling process is subject to legal accountability, whether the agent, the complex, the center or Citizen".
He believed that "reducing violations, food smuggling and price hikes, and achieving food security, requires appointing new numbers of young people, employees and new experiences to work as a supervisory authority to take the appropriate action."
