On Friday, MP Kata' Al-Rikabi confirmed that all political forces agreed to hold the elections on their scheduled date, warning that the delay would plunge the country into many embarrassments.
Al-Rikabi said in a statement to NRTArabiya (August 13, 2021), that “ there is the insistence of the government, the Electoral Commission and all parties to hold the elections on their scheduled date,” noting that “the postponement of the elections will confuse the security, political and economic situation.”
Al-Rikabi added that "the parliament will reconvene its sessions at the end of this month to complete the laws that were discussed and not ratified, in addition to discussing issues related to the elections."
