    Today, Monday, the Ministry of Planning announced an increase in the quantity of goods imported through Iraqi ports by 17.1%, while the amount of exported goods decreased by 21% during the past year.
    The ministry said in a statement that "the total tonnage of exported and imported cargo ships by ships owned by the General Company for Maritime Transport increased by (43.3%), while it decreased by (60%) by chartered vessels from last year," attributing this to "the increase in the number of marine units (ships). ) arriving at Iraqi ports.
    She added that "the total revenues achieved by the General Company for Maritime Transport amounted to (184) billion dinars for the year 2020 compared to (83.4) billion dinars for the year 2019, with an increase of (120.6%), while the total revenues achieved by the General Company for Ports of Iraq amounted to (424.1) billion dinars compared to ( 486.3) billion dinars for the year 2019, a decrease of (12.8%).
    And she indicated that “the quantity of imported goods amounted to (19569) thousand tons through Iraqi ports for the year 2020 compared to (16,708) thousand tons for the year 2019 imported goods, with an increase of (17.1%), and the amount of exported goods reached (10213) thousand tons for the year 2020 compared to (12930). ) thousand tons of exported goods for the year 2019, a decrease of (21%).”
