Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein called, on Wednesday, for Swedish companies to contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of Jonas Lofven, the new Swedish ambassador to Baghdad, and they discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Stockholm, and ways to enhance them to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples."
Hussein expressed, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' readiness to provide all support for the success of the diplomatic mission's work," offering "Iraq's thanks and appreciation for Sweden's supportive stances in international forums."
He looked forward to "increasing the volume of cooperation between the two countries," referring to "the role of the Iraqi community in Sweden in political and societal life, where the community is a high proportion of the souls of Swedish society compared to the rest of the communities."
He called for "the signing of memoranda of understanding in various fields, and the contribution of Swedish companies to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities."
For his part, Jonas Lofven, Sweden's new ambassador to Iraq, stressed "the depth and strength of relations between Baghdad and Stockholm," stressing: "We will work on everything that would enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields." Ended 29/A43
