Candidates belonging to alliances and small blocs participating in the early elections revealed that some of the large and influential blocs and alliances received financial support from three countries to finance their electoral campaigns to ensure and secure the largest number of seats in the next House of Representatives, stressing that the candidates of those alliances began distributing cars A type (Jackara) for clan and influential figures in exchange for giving them a thousand votes in each electoral district.
Amer Al-Faseer, a member of parliament, said in a statement to (Al-Mada) that “there are political blocs and parties that have received external support to finance their electoral campaigns in the elections to be held on the tenth of next October,” adding that “these parties finance their propaganda campaigns through their rampant financial corruption. in state institutions.
On the eighth of last July, the Electoral Commission announced the launch of the electoral campaigns for the candidates, which will continue until six in the morning on Thursday 7/10/2021.
And the winner indicated that "what we have noticed is that some candidates belonging to certain parties and blocs buy the votes of the voters in their constituencies, in agreement with some of the sheikhs and dignitaries of the clans and influential figures in those constituencies."
The head of Tasmeem Alliance, which participated in the early elections, added that “those blocs and parties began distributing Jaxar cars, firearms such as pistols or machine guns and plots of land, to some clan heads or influential figures in return for their pledge to grant their candidates in their areas a thousand electoral votes.”
The High Elections Commission set the number of those entitled to participate and vote in the parliamentary elections at 24 million and 29 thousand and 927 people, while 3523 candidates from 83 electoral districts are competing for 329 seats in Parliament.
He added, "The process of buying debts is through corrupt political money to obtain the largest number of parliamentary seats," noting that there are three countries competing with each other in providing financial support for the propaganda campaigns of certain blocs and parties.
For his part, Sarbast Mustafa, the former head of the Electoral Commission, said in a statement to (Al-Mada) that there are two types of candidates who will participate in the early elections. The Commission has set regulations to organize electoral campaigns, which are to prevent attacks on the campaigns of other candidates, and that the election campaign does not come within 100 meters of any polling station, as well as that the election campaign does not include calls for sectarian, nationalist and infidel strife that calls for sowing hatred.
He noted that "large parties have a lot of money to finance their electoral campaigns, unlike small parties that do not have the money," noting that the laws of parliamentary elections, parties and the commission need amendments in order to review the issue of financing electoral campaigns by determining the financial ceiling for each candidate and knowing the sources of these funds and face Exchange. On Saturday (July 10, 2021), the High Electoral Commission in Iraq announced the formation of committees to follow up on the campaigns of the candidates in the parliamentary elections, which began on Friday, and are scheduled to continue until the early elections scheduled for October 10.
He stressed that "it is difficult for the Electoral Commission to reach the sources of funding for the parties and blocs participating in the elections," noting that "the best solution to the problem is to force all parties and blocs to open bank accounts to know their money."
He pointed out that "the strange thing about the electoral propaganda is that it was not at the required level compared to the previous elections, because the blocs, parties and candidates have little enthusiasm because of the possibility of postponing the early elections.
