Independent MP Mansour Al-Baiji confirmed, on Tuesday, that the continued delay in disbursing the salaries of employees and retirees is a great injustice and unfairness against them that cannot continue.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, Al-Baiji called on the Minister of Finance to “accelerate the payment of the salaries of state employees and retirees, because most of the employees have not received their salaries so far, due to the failure of the Ministry of Finance to release funding,” explaining that “this matter is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated permanently.” Especially after the ministry has sufficient funds.
He pointed out that "the retired segment is anxiously awaiting the end of the month in order to receive their pension salaries in order to cover their needs, but this delay negatively affects the course of their daily lives, and this delay cannot continue with the release of salaries."
Al-Baiji explained, “We in the House of Representatives voted on the current year’s budget, which includes full coverage of salaries for employees and retirees, and the financial liquidity is present, so there is no reason to release salaries for this because we do not know its delay until now, and this matter is completely rejected.”
He added, "The delay in disbursing the salaries of employees and retirees is borne by the Ministry of Finance, and this matter affects a lot and negatively on this large segment of citizens." Ended 29/A 4
