Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, discussed with the Special Representative of the UN’s Secretary General, Martin Kobler, the situations in Iraq and the region.
A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com on Monday cited “Maliki, while receiving Kobler at his office on Monday, stated that the current situation in the region affects the internal situation of Iraq,” assuring that “The unity of the Iraqis and their calls to reject the sectarianism and the extremism.”
“Maliki assured that Iraq is going on to develop its relations with the neighboring countries especially Kuwait where the mutual relations with Kuwait are witnessing a big development,” the statement added.
“For his part, Kobler expressed the readiness of the UN to support the reasonable sides in the region and encourage holding the dialogue to avoid the regional danger, expressing his happiness for the improvement of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi relations,” the statement concluded.
