    [size=45]The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, discussed (Saturday) with Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, security cooperation between Baghdad and Riyadh, and the importance of developing it, in various fields.
    At the beginning of the reception, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, to the Iraqi Prime Minister, and their best wishes to the Iraqi government and people for continued progress and prosperity .
    A statement from Al-Kazemi's media office said that "the meeting dealt with security cooperation between Baghdad and Riyadh and the importance of developing it in various security fields, especially in the field of combating terrorism and controlling borders between the two countries," noting that "the meeting included a discussion of the process of exchanging security expertise and everything that would contribute to To achieve the security and stability of the two countries.
    In the same context, the Saudi minister met with the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields and fields.
    The last visit of a senior Saudi official to Baghdad was with Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, who represented the Kingdom at the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, which was held with the participation of 9 countries last month.
    Later, the Saudi Press Agency reported that Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef, Minister of Interior, arrived yesterday in the State of Qatar on an official visit, and
    was received upon his arrival at Doha International Airport by Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, and Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, the ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the State of Qatar.
    Regarding the visit of the Saudi Minister of Interior to Baghdad, the strategic expert, retired Major General Imad Alo, told Asharq Al-Awsat that it “comes after the visit of a delegation from the Saudi Etidal Center specialized in combating extremism and ISIS terrorist ideology, where it is noted that there is remarkable security cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.” This is a good indicator and evidence of the belief of both governments that the common enemy to them is terrorism,” noting that “the other file that must be mentioned is border security, as there was a period before the firing of missiles from the Iraqi side towards one of the American sites near the border. Iraqi-Kuwaiti and it is possible that such a scene will be repeated, and there is attention from the two security leaderships in Iraq and the Kingdom for the purpose of securing the borders and preventing such operations by armed groups outside the law.”
    Major General Alo explained that "there is another important issue, which is drug smuggling through drones, as it is possible that coordination between the two countries will take place in order to confront this process," stressing that "all this cooperation comes in the context of openness and development in relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and the Gulf openness in a general way."     For his part, security expert Fadel Abu Ragheef confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that "this visit falls within many concepts; Among them is that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a brotherly and neighbor country, and it is linked by a long land border with Iraq, including the border crossing that was opened months ago, which is Jdeidet Arar, in addition to the exchange of information between the two countries, especially with regard to wanted persons at the airports and at the borders.
    He added: "There is a follow-up to the results and outputs of the last Baghdad summit, in addition to the aspiration to build a system of solid and solid relations with the countries of the region and the Arab depth."[/size]
