The United Nations announced, on Tuesday, its procedures for the Iraqi elections and the prevention of fraud.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, said in a press conference followed by "Mawazine News", that "the United Nations supports credible Iraqi elections on a large scale," pointing out that "procedural measures are taken not to falsify the elections and the electronic card."
She added, "The October elections will be different," stressing "continued support for women to participate in the elections."
"Mobile phones are not allowed in polling stations, and a sign language employee was appointed to help the disabled in the elections," Plasschaert said.
She pointed out, "Iraq's calls for deep reforms," adding: "We have more than 130 experts present in Iraq for electoral monitoring and assistance."
