A member of the Integrity Committee, Jawad Al-Saadi, said, "There are a large number of corruption files in the Iraqi government departments since 2003 until now, which makes it difficult for the Integrity Commission alone to resolve it."
He added, "The Parliamentary Integrity Committee, in the current fourth session, received many corruption files that were in the possession of the Integrity Committee from the previous session, which it was unable to resolve and refer them to the concerned authorities, in addition to many corruption files that the Committee is currently working on," suggesting that "the The Parliamentary Integrity Committee is a special directorate within the Chamber of Representatives with staff and cadres of specialized auditors, accountants and jurists to expedite the resolution of overdue corruption files, investigate them, verify evidence and refer them to the Integrity Commission for decision.
And he, a member of the Parliamentary Committee, continued, "The committee has investigated corruption files belonging to the ministries of oil, industry, transport and a number of other ministries and independent bodies, including the General Federation of Agricultural Associations. All of these files were referred after completing the documents proving the existence of suspicions of corruption or accusations." Corruption is confirmed by evidence to the competent authorities, which are the Integrity and Public Prosecution Commission, as well as the Financial Supervision Bureau.
Al-Saadi confirmed, "In the coming days, files related to the Ministry of Industry, specifically the Textile and Leather Company, as well as cement factories and scrap factory in Mosul, and many contracts of the Textile and Leather Company and some ministries will be completed, which have been referred to the judiciary and the Iraqi Cement Company as well, and secondly, files will be completed in the Ministry of Transport."
