{Economist: Al Furat News} The annual report of the National Electric Power Company in Jordan included the measures that were taken for the purposes of the Jordanian electrical connection with the countries of Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Palestine and Saudi Arabia, during the past year 2020.

The annual report also included the measures that were taken for the purposes of the Jordanian-Gulf-Egyptian electrical connection during the past year 2020.
According to the annual report of the company, the energy exchange contract between the Jordanian and Egyptian sides was renewed for the year 2021, and regarding the Jordanian-Syrian electrical linkage, no energy exchange took place during 2020.
As for the Jordanian-Palestinian electrical connection (Jericho), an agreement was signed to establish the Ramah 132/33 KV substation (the first phase during May of this year with a transformational capacity of 1 x 80 MVA), for the purpose of raising the capacity of the electric power supply exported to the Jerusalem District Electricity Company And signing the supply contract (energy sale contract).
With regard to the Jordanian-Saudi electrical connection, the technical and economic studies of the project were completed by an international consultant, and a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries represented by the Saudi Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with the aim of authorizing the concerned companies in both countries (National Electricity Company and Saudi Electricity Company). To negotiate for the preparation of linkage agreements and to choose the best model for financing the project.
Regarding the Jordanian-Gulf-Egyptian electrical interconnection, the memorandum of understanding was renewed during 2019, and the memorandum included the inclusion of the Egyptian side within the interconnection project, and a global consultant was appointed to prepare the technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies for the project, and it is expected that all necessary studies would be completed during 2021. .
With regard to the Jordanian-Iraqi electrical interconnection, a draft contract for the supply of electric power was signed from the Jordanian side to the Iraqi side as a first phase of the project, and the project implementation mechanism was signed between the two sides, represented by the National Electricity Company and the General Electricity Transmission Company (Central Region) last July.
