{Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Planning revealed the illiteracy rate in Iraq.
The Ministry's spokesman, Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi, told {Euphrates News}, "The illiteracy rate in Iraq has decreased significantly due to enrollment in primary education, reaching 94 percent, in addition to the opening of literacy classes, which many elderly people joined."
He pointed out that "the ministries implemented special campaigns to eradicate illiteracy, as the ministries became free of illiterate employees working in the field of services and others."
He noted that "the women's group is higher, with an increase in illiteracy, at an average of 18%, than men, who range from 10-11% due to social status."
