The ministry stated in a statement received by NRT Arabic, a copy of it, (September 15, 2021), that "we have concluded a cooperation agreement with the International Trade Center to implement the "Savi" program in Iraq," stressing that "the ministry's policy aims to create job opportunities for our youth."
The statement added, "The agreement includes in its articles the employment of young people, especially students of agricultural colleges, to invest in the appropriate fertile lands in the country and help revive the agricultural situation and economic growth, strengthen agricultural and food value strains, and improve land with the participation of local labor."
He explained, "The project will start from Basra, which will host the Arab Gulf Cup football tournament, and we must invest all opportunities to revive the youth, agricultural and economic reality in the country, and we will involve the female component alongside our youth in all governorates with the aim of developing untapped lands."
The statement indicated that "the agreement aims to implement all the provisions of (SAVI) specialized in strengthening chains of agriculture and agri-food, improving trade policies and youth employment, with funding from the European Union and the United Nations."
