During her meeting, in the presence of the Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Eng. Hassan Al-Omari, the Minister directed a number of members of the board of directors of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry and the industrialists who participated in the visit of the industrial delegation to Baghdad recently to focus on sectoral visits to Iraq to ensure better results and facilitate communication with industrialists and their counterparts in Iraq.
The minister stressed the importance of the tripartite summits that brought together His Majesty King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and the importance of working to strengthen economic cooperation between the three countries, especially in the industrial field. She added that the governmental sides in Jordan and Iraq are in constant communication in order to address the difficulties facing the movement of trade exchange and facilitate procedures for businessmen and investors.
She urged the industrialists to participate in the exhibition of Jordanian products in Baghdad, which will be organized next December, expressing her thanks to the Iraqi government for providing facilities to the Jordan Chamber of Industry in terms of allocating a space in the Baghdad International Fair to display Jordanian products.
The Minister heard from representatives of the industrial sector about the results of the visit of the industrial delegation that recently visited Iraq and the follow-up mechanisms with the Iraqi side to achieve practical results on the ground.
The representative of the leather and knitting industries sector in the Jordan Chamber of Industry, Ihab Al-Qadri, spoke about the visit, stressing the existence of areas to enhance economic cooperation with Iraq, especially commercial ones.
A member of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Iyad Abu Haltam, pointed out the importance of sectoral visits to Iraq, with the aim of crystallizing agreements for each sector to increase Jordanian exports to the Iraqi market, which is one of the most important export markets for Jordanian products. He stressed the importance of the activities that coordinate between the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Amman Chamber of Industry under the Made in Jordan system, with regard to promoting high-quality Jordanian products in the export markets, especially the Iraqi market.
