, President of the Republic, Barham Salih, spoke about the lesson of Afghanistan and the American presence, while noting that without good governance it is not possible to succeed regardless of international support.
Saleh said in an interview with CCN, "The lesson that took place after the events in Afghanistan and 20 years of American presence, is that no matter how much international support is, without the support of good governance, there can be no success and salvation."
He added that corruption is an obstacle to good governance, security and stability, and that good governance must be at the heart of any international support in any region of the world.
