A member of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, Layal Al-Bayati, confirmed on Thursday that the delay in distributing the ration card items has become a burden on the poor, stressing the need to find an urgent solution to that.
Al-Bayati said, "Millions of Iraqis are waiting impatiently for the distribution of the ration card items due to the high prices in the local markets," noting that "the delay in distributing the ration card items constitutes a new burden added to the bitter economic burdens suffered by the poor and those with limited income."
And she stressed, "the need to find an urgent solution to end the delay in distributing vocabulary for long periods of time, in order to avoid the greed of merchants in the local markets."
Al-Bayati pointed out that "the delay is unjustified in light of the critical economic conditions that most poor classes suffer from."
