In a speech that included a rebuke to his followers... Muqtada al-Sadr: We will obtain a majority of seats in the next parliament
This came during a speech by al-Sadr in front of his followers in Najaf, which he began by reprimanding his followers for not organizing their ranks and listening well, warning against not meeting them again.
Al-Sadr said that Iraq "needs peace and solidarity, for by force we deter enemies such as America and Israel, terrorism, normalization and dissolution."
The Sadrist bloc is running the elections through 100 candidates distributed across the country's governorates and cities.
The "Sairoon" coalition (which brings together the Sadrists, the Communist Party and civilians from technocrats) backed by al-Sadr led the last parliamentary elections in 2018, winning 54 out of 329 seats.
