Masrour Barzani: We seek to implement projects that preserve food security and develop the rest of the sectors in the region
Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani said on Thursday that his government seeks to implement projects aimed at protecting food security and developing various sectors in the region.
This came in his speech on the sidelines of the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the "Klar" silo project for storing wheat in the administration of the "Karmian" region.
Barzani said during the speech, that these projects preserve food security, and will also lead to the development of the rest of the sectors, adding: We want in the near future for the Kurdistan Region to rise on its feet.
He pointed out that his government has allocated 126 billion dinars to the city of Garmian, including the Silo Clar project, and we hope to complete service projects in the near future.
Barzani noted that 16 billion dinars have been allocated to implement 19 other projects in the Garmian region.
In turn, the Minister of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Kamal Muslim, said during a ceremony that: Despite the financial crisis caused by low oil prices, the Corona crisis and financial problems with Baghdad, we did not stop implementing this project and other projects, adding that: Garmian city is an agricultural city and this project It revives the movement of agriculture in it.
He added that there are 12 silos in Kurdistan for storing grain, and our plan is to implement other similar projects in other regions.
For his part, the supervisor of the Garmian administration, Jalal Sheikh Nuri, also said in his speech that: The opening of the Clar silo was implemented on the budget of the Ministry of Commerce at a financial cost of more than 21 billion dinars, and it will contribute to solving the problems of farmers within the limits of the administration of the region.
The local official called on the regional government to start implementing the projects that were suspended in the administration due to the financial crisis, amounting to 58 projects.
Sheikh Nuri continued by saying that: The silo project will open the door to employ hundreds of the unemployed and will revive the agricultural movement in the Garmian administration.
As for the head of the company executing the Claror silo project, Barham Ibrahim, he said: The silo was implemented with the highest specifications and according to international standards.
He noted that the silo was equipped with all modern equipment, and was equipped with an electrical power of up to 33 KV.
