Baghdad/National News Center
The Iranian expert on Middle East affairs, Reza Sadr Al-Husseini, said that the United States of America failed to obstruct the holding of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, pointing out that the elections were held at an acceptable level, and the Islamic and Shiite currents and the resistance managed to win the majority of votes.
Sadr Al-Husseini said about the process of early legislative elections in Iraq in an interview, "The Iraqi parliamentary elections were held after many fluctuations last Sunday."
He stressed that "the elections were an achievement for the Iraqi people because the Americans worked hard to postpone them during the past months."
