{Political: Al Furat News} Iraq and Egypt agreed to exchange experiences in the field of environment and to set up monitoring stations to purify the air and others to solve water problems.
Environment Minister Jassem Hammadi said in a press statement, "Iraq has asked the Arab countries to unite in order to resist environmental changes and move to renewable energies and a green environment."
He explained that "Iraq has started to make great strides in this area through the directives of Prime Minister Mustafa Kazmi, as we have set up a technical committee made up of several ministries in order to achieve these goals and we look forward Arab countries to support our country in investing in the fields of energy and renewable."
He stressed "the need to unify the efforts of our Arab countries in the Glasgow Conference, which is being held in order to preserve the environment and control environmental changes."
Hammadi announced, "Iraq has unanimously won the membership of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment," noting that "the victory counts for the great diplomatic effort undertaken by our government in order for Iraq to return to its important position in the executive office of the Arab League. To the Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, all Arab countries welcomed and agreed to accept us unanimously, and we will be members of the Executive Office as of the upcoming meetings.
In the same regard, the Egyptian Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, said in a press statement, "There are wide areas of cooperation between Egypt and Iraq in the field of environment, and we seek to provide Iraq with all our expertise in this."
