The United Nations confirms that it will continue its work to produce accurate final results for the Iraqi elections
Shafaq News/ The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) confirmed on Wednesday its continuation of its work to produce accurate final results for the parliamentary elections.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the media office of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said that the latter received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mrs. Jenin Plasschaert, and discussed the overall electoral process that took place on the tenth of this month and the progress of completing all its aspects.
Al-Kazemi praised the participation and support that the Iraqi elections received from international observers and the United Nations.
In turn, Plasschaert praised the logistical and security plans developed by the government; Which had a positive impact on the smoothness of the electoral process, and the success of its conduct.
It reiterated that the United Nations Mission in Iraq is a supporter and enhancer of the procedures of the Independent High Electoral Commission, and affirms the continuation of UN support for its work; In order for the results to come out in an honest manner that expresses the will of the Iraqi voters.
