{Political: Al Furat News} The process of receiving appeals against the results of the parliamentary elections has entered its second day, Monday, and will end tomorrow, Tuesday, at a time when political strife continues in the country, especially with the rejection of these results by some forces.
On the mechanisms of the stage of submitting electoral appeals and how to legally resolve them, Imad Jamil, a member of the media team of the Commission, said in a press statement, "Tuesday ends the period for submitting appeals to the Complaints and Appeals Department of the High Commission, and after that, for a week, the Board of Commissioners will consider it."
He added, "Then it will be referred, over a period of 10 days, to the judicial body specialized in elections, which is affiliated with the Supreme Judicial Council and consists of 3 judges, for final consideration, as its decisions will be binding on the Commission. The process will take 20 days, including the first three days of receiving appeals."
And Jamil said, "When the judiciary finishes looking into and deciding on appeals and complaints, the final results of the elections will be announced with names, seats and a quota for women, and then the results will be submitted to the Federal Court for approval, and after ratification, the President of the Iraqi Republic must invite the new parliament to convene within 15 days. ".
He pointed out that "over the course of 3 days, the Federal Court receives appeals against the decisions of the electoral judiciary, and after the Federal Court considers those appeals and objections, its decision is final and binding on the Commission, for example, as happened in the years 2010 and 2018, when the Federal Court decided to recount and count the votes on the The level of Iraq as a whole, but I rule out a repetition of that scenario during this election cycle, because the circumstances are completely different this time," he said.
The early parliamentary elections that took place last Sunday, according to the commission, reached 43 percent of participation, with the participation of more than 9.5 million voters who cast their votes, out of about 22 million eligible to vote, who have long-term biometric cards and short-term electoral cards.

So in 20 days we will have the final result, then the president need to invite the new parliament to convene within 15 days, then I believe Sadr need to annonce the PM, PM needs to submit all ministers to the parliament for them to vote and as we know could take ages for all of them to agree. We will be lucky if we have a fully functional gov by Feb 22. I cannot see any RV soon.....
