America hopes to form the new Iraqi government according to the results of the elections and the decision of the people
Toler said in a dialogue session on the sidelines of the Middle East Conference held in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, that "our responsibility is to provide security and stability for Iraq," adding that "America believes in the need to continue cooperation with this country."
He stressed that Iraq is suffering with different sectors, including electricity, education and the environment, pointing out that the United States wants to strengthen these sectors, and we want the Iraqi people to stand on their old.
On what is being raised about the existence of an agenda for the United States in Iraq and the attempt of some to confront it, the ambassador said that his country does not have any agenda in this country for people to undermine relations between Washington and Baghdad.
Regarding the formation of the new Iraqi government, Tueller said that the formation of the government is an important process and this should be expedited, and according to the results of the elections.
He continued by saying that the international community, the United Nations and the United States emphasized that the Iraqi people deserve to have a government according to a peaceful transition process.
With regard to the legislative elections that took place in Iraq in October, the US ambassador said: These elections were successful from a technical point of view and the preparation for them, describing them as the calmest and best electoral process that took place in Iraq.
He also said: We want to form an Iraqi government peacefully, without any interference, and it should not be formed on the basis of violence, stressing that the decision to form a government belongs to the Iraqi people because they are the ones who voted in the elections.
