The Federal Integrity Commission managed, on Tuesday, to seize and arrest the head and members of the Committee for the Implementation of the Reconstruction of Mosul Mosques, indicating that it was able to seize fake and forged purchase receipts.
The Commission said in a statement received by NRT Arabic, a copy of it, (November 9, 2021), that "the cadres of the Commission's Investigation Directorate in Nineveh Governorate were able to seize the head and members of the Implementation Committee for the Reconstruction of Mosques in Mosul."
The statement added, "The seizure process also included seizing the origin of purchase receipts for the restoration of (37) mosques affiliated to the Sunni Endowment Directorate in the governorate for the year 2008, and amounts amounting to nearly two billion dinars."
He explained, "The investigations of the Directorate concluded that most of these receipts were incorrect and forged, as a fundamentalist seizure report was organized with the exhibits, and presented to the competent investigative judge, who decided to arrest the arrested suspects (chairman and members of the committee) pending investigation, based on the provisions of Article (340). ) of the Penal Code.
The commission had previously disclosed the issuance of rulings in cases related to embezzlement of funds allocated for the reconstruction and stabilization of the governorate after its liberation from ISIS.
