On Friday, the Ministry of Agriculture spoke about the fate of the fish lakes, in light of the current water crisis in Iraq.
Ministry spokesman Hamid Al-Nayef said in a statement to Al-Nour News that "many fish lakes will be affected by water scarcity, and they may stop working, especially lakes on the edges of rivers," noting that "there are alternative ways for fish farmers to avoid this effect." .
He added that "the Ministry of Agriculture has no role in managing water, and it is a consumer of water, and therefore what the Ministry of Resources says is applied by agriculture."
