[size=45]Former MP Hamid Al-Mutlaq confirmed, on Sunday, the existence of a Sunni rejection of the renewal of the former Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, pointing to the entry of several names on the line of competition for the position.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Mutlaq said in a statement, "The general trend of the political forces for the next political stage is to make a radical change to the political process," noting that "the change will first include not renewing for a second term for the three presidencies."[/size]
[size=45]He added, "The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, despite his relentless efforts to attract Sunni political forces to renew his second term, is facing rejection from most of the Sunni forces. Several names were put forward to take over the position instead of al-Halbousi."[/size]
[size=45]The political analyst Sarmad Al-Bayati had announced earlier on Sunday, that "everyone is waiting for the decision of the Federal Court in the issue of electoral appeals submitted to it."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the issue of the upcoming parliament presidency was not raised during a meeting of an alliance of progress and determination, and there are close meetings that indicate that."[/size]
