The Integrity Commission announced, on Sunday, that it had seized cases of waste of public money in the health and tax of Maysan.
A statement by the authority, received by Mawazine News, stated that "the work team of the Maysan Investigation Office of the authority, which moved to the health department in the governorate, seized the origin of disbursement documents related to hospital cleaning contracts that were disbursed in violation of the law," noting that "their amounts amounted to (223). Million dinars".
He added that "three accountants in the Department of Health paid the financial dues to one of the pledges and cleaning offices within the contract for cleaning hospitals (baby maternity, educational chest, and al-Zahrawi surgical) for the period from (1/12/2017 until 30/9/2019) in violation of the controls, instructions and law Which led to a waste of public money.”
In a separate operation, the authority explained that "the team was able, after research and investigation in the tax department in the governorate, to detect violations in a number of files that had been crossed out, which caused a waste of public money."
And she pointed out that "the team found (36) files from the taxpayers' files that were written off in violation of the law and instructions, in addition to the failure to follow the legal contexts in force in the cancellation of the files of the taxpayers."
And she indicated that "two fundamentalist reports were organized with the seizures in the two operations, which were carried out based on two judicial notes, and presented to the competent investigative judge, who decided to conduct the investigation in the second case, in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code."
