, head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, confirmed today, Sunday, the opening of the Jamima port with Saudi Arabia, subject to Riyadh's approval.
Al-Waeli said, "The Board of the Border Ports Authority voted to approve the opening of Jamima port in Samawah province with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to raise the economic level of the people of the province, as well as to employ Iraqi labor and increase trade exchange between the two countries."
Al-Waeli added in a statement to the official news agency, followed by Mawazine News, that "the Ports Authority is awaiting the approval of the Saudi side, as they have been notified through diplomatic channels." Ended 29/N33
