The Ministry of Planning reassured about the fate of state employees’ salaries for the next year, stressing that they are “secured” in all cases, regardless of the existence of the draft budget or not, while revealing that a draft budget law for 2022 was prepared and discussed.
Ministry spokesman Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi said in a press statement, “The salaries of the employees have nothing to do with the draft general budget, as the years 2014 and 2020 passed without a budget and the salaries did not stop,” adding that “the state provides salaries regardless of whether the budget exists or not.” .
Al-Hindawi revealed that “the preparation of the 2022 draft budget was discussed in the Council of Ministers more than once, but the current government is a caretaker and passing it requires the convening of a new parliament and the formation of a new government.”
