{Local: Al Furat News} The Kurdistan Islamic Union stressed, on Tuesday, the need to expedite the formation of a national service government in Iraq.
This came in a welcome statement issued by the Council of Representatives of the Islamic Union in the Iraqi and Kurdish parliaments, following the decision of the Federal Supreme Court to reject the complaints and ratify the results of the early elections that took place on the 10th of October.
The statement added: "While we welcome the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, we congratulate the Iraqi people and the winning parties, and stress the need to take the constitutional measures in their tracks, by convening the new elected House of Representatives, naming the three presidential candidates within a comprehensive national context, and expediting the formation of a national service government; The state, dealing with crises, and achieving the aspirations of all components of the country for stability and a comfortable life.”
He continued, "We in the Kurdistan Islamic Union reiterate our choice to remain as the opposition, because we see the presence of opposition forces as a temporary necessity for the system of governance, and support for any consensus that serves the national strategy at all levels."
