{Economic: Al Furat News} The Iraqi Economic Center revealed that the year 2021 witnessed a significant and "enormous" rise in real estate prices for some residential and commercial areas in the capital, Baghdad.
A statement by the Center stated that the agency {Euphrates News} received a copy of it that "these prices may exceed their counterparts in the Emirate of Dubai and the British capital, London, where the price of one commercial meter sometimes reached 10 thousand dollars, which indicates the perceptions that there is money laundering or inconsistency in real estate prices after narrowing The government clampdown on foreign money transfers.
He noted that "real estate prices have been on the rise in recent years," noting that "it is possible for the government to change the law on real estate trading at the capital level and not the amounts that are bought and sold in the same year or at close times."
The Director of the Economic Center, Wissam Al-Helou, explained that "the process of changing the property trading law and fixing the buyer in the real estate registry for at least ten years may contribute to withdrawing the cash mass to investment sectors other than real estate."
And he indicated, "It is possible for the government to coordinate with the concerned authorities in the country in a broad, transparent, firm and strict manner at the same time in order to control the pace of selling real estate prices through the formation of a special body or committee to monitor and monitor prices and limit any manipulation that affects real estate prices in the capital and all provinces".
