    A source from the White House told Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath, today, Friday, that Washington takes any threat to US forces in Iraq seriously.
    He added that his country reserves the right to defend its forces against any threat, whether in Iraq or Syria.
    These statements came after the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy, Ali Tangsiri, indirectly acknowledged Tehran's responsibility in targeting the Ain al-Assad base in the Iraqi Anbar province, which includes American advisers.
    He added in a press interview yesterday that targeting al-Qaeda is "one of the models of our response", threatening at the same time the US forces in the region and closing the Strait of Hormuz.
    The Iraqi Security Media Cell said Thursday morning that the air defenses had intercepted an unidentified drone that tried to approach the air base of the Iraqi Air Force Command in Anbar on Wednesday evening, pointing out that it was shot down outside the vicinity of "Ain al-Assad."
