Iraq's ports announce that 234 fires have been extinguished during 2021

{Local: Al Furat News} The General Company for Iraq Ports in the Ministry of Transport announced, on Sunday, that (234) fires have been extinguished as a result of the work of the Safety and Fire Department for the year 2021.
The company's general manager, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said, according to a statement by the Ministry of Transport, received by {Euphrates News}, that the firefighting staff of El-Ayoun ports are watchful to preserve people's lives and property, and they are fully prepared to carry out any duty entrusted to them in response to citizens' calls.
For his part, the Director of the Safety and Fire Department of Iraq Ports, Naji Abdullah Hassan, stated that the department’s staff put out (47) fires in different areas in the Basra Governorate during the year 2021 and extinguished (5) fires in the company’s departments and ports. We also contributed to (182) scattered fire accidents in the shops and residential neighborhoods in the province.
He added that the department’s staff held a number of professional safety and firefighting courses over the past year at the oil docks. We also conducted periodic visits to the departments, divisions and ports to check the capacity of their safety devices and equipment, and equipped a number of departments, divisions, ports and other departments with firefighting devices and safety equipment, in addition to fogging operations. And sterilization conducted by the department’s staff to prevent corona virus.
