Parliament said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency, "Due to receiving many complaints from citizens as a result of their inability to communicate with the legal department in the House of Representatives due to continuous communications at the same time, which leads to busy lines and overlapping communications with other lines that are not approved in the official announcement." It was not possible to quickly allocate a line with a capacity of multiple pilot numbers and for the limited period of time, so it was decided to adopt the e-mail of the Legal Department to communicate with the ladies and gentlemen wishing to run for the post of President of the Republic of Iraq.
The statement explained, that this came "in accordance with the provisions of Article (2/first) of the Law No. (8) of 2012 on the provisions of candidacy for the position of President of the Republic."

The Iraqi Council of Representatives had announced two numbers assigned to those wishing to run for the presidency, but citizens complained that these numbers belong to them and caused them to "disturb."
