, the former Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bashir Haddad, confirmed today, Monday, that it is not possible to exceed the constitutional periods in choosing the President of the Republic.
Haddad said in an interview with "Mawazine News", "The constitutional terms are fixed, and the President of the Republic should be chosen according to them," noting that "the field will remain open to the Presidency of the House of Representatives, to call for a vote on the candidate for the President of the Republic, no later than the ninth of next February."
Haddad pointed out that "it is not possible to speculate on the decision of the Federal Court regarding maintaining the current presidency, or canceling the course of the first session, and if it retains the presidency, it will proceed without delay by choosing the president of the republic in accordance with the constitutional terms."
