    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mourned the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Qais Al-Azzawi, who died yesterday, Saturday, after a struggle with illness.
    Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said in a statement: "With great sadness, we received the news of the death of Ambassador Qais Al-Azzawi, Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication Affairs of the League of Arab States.
    For its part, the Iraqi embassy in Cairo announced, yesterday, Sunday, the establishment of a condolence council for Al-Azzawi.
    The Iraqi ambassador in Cairo and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, mourned Ambassador Al-Azzawi, indicating that condolences will be received at the Hamidiya Al-Shadhili Mosque, next Tuesday.
    Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, had mourned Ambassador Qais Al-Azzawi, Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication Affairs. Aboul Gheit said: Al-Azzawi, “was a great value to his country, Iraq, and to the Arab nation. He mixed political and academic work, so he worked hard and left imprint in every field.
    Aboul Gheit added that "the late work's professional and academic period revealed a sincere Arab sense and commitment to Arab issues and joint Arab action."
    In addition, the Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, mourned Ambassador Al-Azzawi, through his Facebook account, and said: “We mourn ourselves, Iraq, and his small and large families.
