    The Information/Baghdad...
The Minister of Labor, Adel Al-Rikabi, revealed, on Tuesday, that there are more than 28 thousand employees and retirees who receive social welfare salaries, indicating that the layoff of employees in the next stage is a possibility.
Al-Rikabi said in a televised interview, which was followed by "The Information", that "the fake projects in Iraq are estimated in the thousands, and the weak coordination with the Ministry of Interior affected the issue of foreign labor, and the lack of productivity of the Iraqi worker cannot be accepted as an excuse for the foreign worker's survival."
He added, "The government does not have any statistical ministry on the number of foreign workers in Iraq, and that unemployment rates are not less than 15% in the country," noting that "the layoffs of employees in the coming years is a possibility."
He added, "We have referred more than 3,000 companies in the private sector to the judiciary, and out of 3,000 investment projects, only 4 are operating," stressing that "more than 80 billion of those who violated social protection have been recovered."
Finance Minister Ali Allawi had previously warned that the government may have to lay off employees during the next ten years. finished/25 d
