The former member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, confirmed, on Sunday, that the United States with Gulf and regional countries is the one who arranges the meetings of some Iraqi political forces and spends money on them, while noting that the compass of the current political process is in line with the goals of those countries.
Al-Baldawi told "The Information", "The countries of the Emirates, Qatar, Turkey and America have become clear about their interference in the Iraqi political process. They are the ones who arrange meetings and gather political leaders, and they also spend money, and therefore they became the ones who manage and arrange the entire political process."
He added, "The compass of the political process in Iraq now is in line with the goals of the regional and Gulf countries and not with the interests and goals of the Iraqi people."
Al-Baldawi explained, "All wrong decisions of the political process are largely borne by the external actor, who has clearly and explicitly laid his allegiance on the course of the political process," noting that "foreign parties are trying to plunge the country into multiple political crises in order for Iraq to remain hostage to its will."
