The decision came in favor of the tripartite bloc (Facebook)

The approval of the first session of Parliament came in favor of the tripartite bloc: the Sadrist bloc, the Progress Alliance, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party
The commission, consisting of Muhammad al-Halbousi as chairman and Hakim al-Zamili and Shakhwan Abdullah as his two deputies, became an official body again after its work was temporarily suspended by a wilaya order that was canceled by the court in its session on January 25, 2022, and with this, a case was filed by Representative Basem Khashan and Representative Mahmoud al-Mashhadani.

After the decision, the conversation quickly moved to the candidates for the presidency, to be chosen by elections inside the parliament, after the commission's quorum was completed and its legitimacy was recognized.
The response to the lawsuit came in favor of the tripartite bloc: the Sadrist bloc, the Progress Alliance, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which gave them a new impetus that will increase their rush to take over the three presidential positions, according to legal expert Tariq Harb.
The three parties had taken over the Presidency of the House of Representatives in the first session, which the Coordinating Framework Forces, as well as the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, left.
Presidency struggle
The Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan are still in a dispute that appears to be deep over the position, especially with the latter's insistence on renewing Barham Salih in his position for a second term, which Barzani's party rejects, as he repeatedly asserts.

Several figures have been put forward in the media for the position, including Judge Rizgar Amin, Adnan Al-Mufti and another candidate from the new generation, in addition to the prominent leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and former Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari.
In this regard, legal expert Tariq Harb confirms in a television program followed by "Ultra Iraq" that the presidency of the Republic is settled in favor of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stressing that "Hoshyar Zebari will be president of the Republic of Iraq by next week" by guaranteeing the votes of the Sadrist bloc and the Progress Alliance, in addition to the Kurdistan Democratic Party. .
Despite the continuation of statements calling for agreement between the two Kurdish parties, sources close to the KDP confirmed to Ultra Iraq that the party led by Massoud Barzani "is determined to nominate Hoshyar Zebari and vote for him with the partners."
The writer and political researcher Hamid Al-Saeh believes that the recent elections "imposed a new reality" that did not exist before the popular protests in 2019, after "the presidency of the republic was from the share of one Kurdish party", which strengthens Barzani's party to win the presidency.
Al-Sadr and Al-Maliki struggle
Al-Sadr had confirmed in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] published after the Federal Court announced the rejection of the case against the legitimacy of the first session of the House of Representatives, as well as in a tweet on the “Twitter” website, he confirmed his insistence on the majority government and said that he was still waiting for “those we think of” to enter the national majority government. And he made it clear in the picture that they are the head of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri and part of the coordinating framework who invited them to join him in the government without the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri Al-Maliki.
The leader in the state of law, Jassim Muhammad Jaafar, responds by saying that “the Sadrist movement can think of removing Nuri al-Maliki, but it will not be able to, given the latter’s broad, broad and influential leadership,” but at the same time he believes that “Al-Maliki may withdraw if he sees that his participation in the government is humiliation.” ".
Prime Minister position
Jassim Muhammad Jaafar says that the coordinating framework adopted unity and went to consult with the leader of the Sadrist movement in one bloc without joining part of it without the other, and stresses that it is not possible to isolate Nuri al-Maliki outside the coordinating framework, which has more than 130 deputies in Parliament, according to his claim in a television program he followed "Alter races".
In this context, local and Iraqi news agencies are talking about a visit being conducted at this time by the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, to Iraq with the aim of putting pressure on the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to ease his conditions and accept the participation of the coordination framework in the government.
Legal expert Tariq Harb says that the leader of the current rejected a previous Iranian request to give the position of Deputy Speaker of Parliament in favor of a figure from the coordinating framework, stressing that the "Three Stars Alliance agreed to stay away from any external pressure, whether from Iran, the United States of America or the Emirates."
Harb believes that "the President of the Republic, in the voting session, will assign the most numerous parliamentary bloc candidate to form a government," which will, of course, be in favor of the Sadrists' candidate.
