Shafaq News/ A close associate of Hadi al-Amiri revealed on Thursday that the latter's agenda does not include a meeting - so far - between the leaders of the Coordination Framework and the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr. Meanwhile, the Iranian General Ismail Qaani in Baghdad is still trying to heal Shiite rift.
"The agenda of the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, so far, is devoid of any meeting with the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and we do not expect that there will be a meeting today, and this meeting may be tomorrow or after," Al-Amiri told Shafaq News Agency.
He stressed that "until this moment, no contact has taken place between Al-Sadr and Al-Amiri to determine the date and place of the meeting, and that Al-Sadr's special team did not contact Al-Amiri or his team for the purpose of arranging the upcoming meeting, and frankly, we do not know the reason for Al-Sadr's visit to Baghdad, if he did not specify or request to meet Al-Amiri or Fatah leaders.
In addition, an informed political source confirmed to Shafaq News Agency, "The commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, General Ismail Qaani, who arrived yesterday, Tuesday, is still in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad."
He said that "there is an expected meeting between Qaani and the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, in the coming hours, to discuss unifying positions within the Shiite political house, and forming a government in which all Shiite political parties participate, including the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki."
The commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, arrived on Tuesday in the capital, Baghdad, on an unannounced visit, and held a round of talks in the capital, Baghdad and Najaf, in which he did not reach results that lead to a Shiite consensus on forming the government.
Attempts to enter parties from the coordination framework in a national majority government that Muqtada al-Sadr is confronting, jointly with the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the alliance of those who advanced headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi, and Azm headed by Khamis al-Khanjar, faltered.
This was confirmed by al-Sadr, when he expressly rejected the participation of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, in the government of the national majority that he seeks to form.
Al-Sadr said in a televised speech, followed by Shafak News Agency, "I invited Hadi Al-Amiri, Qais Al-Khazali and Faleh Al-Fayyad to participate in the majority government, provided that Al-Maliki did not participate, but they refused to do so," adding, "The coordinating framework forces mortgaged Al-Maliki's participation by her coming to Al-Hananah and we told them: Your comfort."
Today, Thursday, the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, responded to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who stipulated that the coordination framework should include them in the new government without al-Maliki.
Al-Maliki said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by Shafak News Agency, "I am used to in my political and social life that I do not issue a response to those who transcend and personify national political differences, and respond to them in the political and security field, in defense of Iraq and the security and interests of citizens and to stop harming those who underestimate blood and confiscate Money, property and liberties.
And he added, "And from a position of strength, power, and a sense of responsibility, I say to everyone looking for differences and venting grudges and hatred, that my hand is extended for the best relations, if they are in the interest of Iraq and its people, and without it I do not like and do not welcome any relationship and partnership with any party that harms the interests of Iraq and the dignity of people." .
