The Federal Supreme Court set, on Thursday, the quorum required for the number of members of the House of Representatives present during the presidential election session.
According to documents obtained by Mawazine News, the court concluded with a decision that “the House of Representatives elects a president of the republic from among the presidential candidates by a two-thirds majority of the total number of members of the total parliament, and the quorum is achieved in the presence of two-thirds of the total number of members of the parliament.”
This decision came in response to a request made by the current president, Barham Salih, to indicate the majority that must be met to initiate a vote on the president of the republic. Ended 29/A 4
