[size=30]Free gas for Mansouriya and a crutch.. Adding quantities to Iraq's gas production is equivalent to extracting one million barrels of oil locked up by OPEC

    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

Iraq has agreed with the Chinese company Sinopec to develop the Mansourieh gas field, which is the second largest free gas field in the country after the crutch field, to supply Iraq with gas production that fills approximately 20% of what is imported from Iran.
The ministry's spokesman, Assem Jihad, said that "the Ministry of Oil signed an initialized agreement with the Chinese company (Sinopec) to develop the Mansouriya gas field in Diyala Governorate."
Jihad added, "The gas in the Mansouriya fields is considered the second largest gas field in Iraq in the ground, or what is known as free gas," noting that "according to estimates, the Mansouriya field will add about 300 million cubic feet per day."
He explained that "the project will provide job opportunities and economic development for Diyala Governorate, and the production of gas to generate electric power plants," stressing that "the Mansouriya field needs final approval for the final signature, and the Chinese company to start working, and the signing will take place after the formation of the next government and its approval of the contract."
According to estimates, the Mansourieh field reserves are about 4.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, in contrast, the Akkas field reserves are 5.6 trillion cubic feet.
The Ministry of Oil confirms that the Okaz field will be signed soon as well, due to the importance of the Okaz Thermal Gas Station and the Anbar Thermal Station in generating electricity, and meeting part of the local need.
On this basis, the production of 300 million cubic feet per day from the Mansouriya field, will raise the current Iraqi gas production by about 16%, and the expected production of Mansouriya represents about 17% of the gas imported from Iran.
If the crutch field is developed, the Ministry of Oil plans to produce 400 million cubic feet per day, which means that the production of the crutch with Mansouriya will represent 700 million cubic feet, which fills the need of Iranian gas by about 41%.
The gas to be extracted from the Mansouriya and Akkat fields is described as “free gas”, which means that Iraq does not need to raise oil production to be extracted as the associated gas.
This quantity of 700 million cubic feet of free gas represents the production of associated gas with the production of one million barrels of oil, which means that Iraq will raise its gas production without the need to add one million barrels of oil and continue to adhere to OPEC production.

On the other hand, other work is underway to stop burning and investing the gas associated with oil production in Iraq, which is estimated at 1,300 million standard cubic feet. Thus, the total production of Iraq will amount to 2,000 milligrams in addition to its current production of 1,400 milligrams, so that the total production of Iraq is 3,400 milligrams, which is enough to operate 12 1,000 megawatts, and it is hoped that Iraq will produce 7,000 megawatts of solar energy, bringing the production to approximately 20,000 megawatts, without relying on Iranian gas, as well as the energy produced through dams, which is estimated at 2,500 megawatts.
