The candidate for the presidency, Hoshyar Zebari, revealed his opinion about the existence of a project for normalization with Israel and the referendum on secession of the Kurdistan region, while stressing that his candidacy is definitive and irreversible.
Zebari said in a television interview, which was followed by / Mawazine News / that "Barzani's initiative came after the good relationship of the Democrat with the Alliance of Sovereignty and the Sadrist movement, and there is no suggestion of a role to break up the Shiite house, and the recent visit to Najaf and our meeting with Mr. Sadr was positive."
He added, "We are in favor of finding a solution to the crisis between the current and the framework, and it is not in our interest to have a governmental or constitutional vacuum, and we are working to expedite the formation of a government with the broad participation of national forces."
He pointed out, "The recent elections changed many of the rules of the political game, and our alliance with the Sadrist movement and sovereignty is strong and coherent."
He continued: "A certain party must confront the decision so that it bears clear responsibility for failure or success, and we have an understanding to impose the law on everyone regarding uncontrolled weapons, and there is a vision to integrate the armed factions and strengthen the state's authority, and there is no attempt to harm the popular mobilization."
He added, "The state is for all of us, and our subscribers make it imperative that we guarantee the rights of all, and they are concerned about the Shiite-Shiite dispute."
And about his candidacy, he explained, "My candidacy for the presidency is definitive, and the vote needs two-thirds of the number of members of Parliament, and we have a mobilization to get the sufficient number," noting, "The National Union took its chance for the presidency for 17 years, and our persona declined in the role of the presidency after Talabani's death."
And he added: "
He stressed, "There are national concerns from Basra to Zakho that need solutions, and we believe that the tripartite alliance program will succeed because it is supported by the people."
And about his dismissal from his position in 2016, he stated, "The issue of withdrawing confidence from me as Minister of Finance was politicized, and no conviction was issued against me by the judiciary."
He said, "We will work to return Iraq to its Arab and Islamic depths, and Al-Kazemi made an effort to arrange the Saudi-Iranian dialogue. We do not want Iraq to be a battlefield or a starting point for striking any neighboring country."
And on the talk about the existence of a project for normalization with Israel, he stressed, "This talk is an illusion, and there is no project for normalization," stressing that "the referendum on the secession of the Kurdistan region was the result of the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil and a message and did not result in the division of Iraq."
