Austria wants to strengthen relations in the fields of trade and investment with the Kurdistan Region
Shafaq News/ On Sunday, a delegation from the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, his country's desire to strengthen relations with the region in the fields of trade and investment.
This came during a meeting with Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Head of the Middle East, North Africa and Southern Europe Department in the Austrian Foreign Ministry Gerold Vollmer, and Austrian Ambassador to Iraq and Jordan Oscar Vostinger.
In the meeting, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "discussing the latest developments in Iraq and the region, in addition to discussing ways to strengthen Austria's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region."
The Prime Minister expressed his "appreciation for the good and historical relationship that binds Austria with the Kurdistan Region, as well as its support for the people of Kurdistan."
The Austrian delegation expressed "the country's desire to continue to improve relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in the areas of trade and investment."
The meeting also dealt with solving the problem of Kurdish immigrants in Europe, and the need to prevent illegal immigration.
