Al-Maliki said in a press interview, "The purpose of the boycott is to give more time for political understandings and to prevent the country from entering a dark tunnel."
He added that "the political understandings are to participate in the government in full and not in parts of it," noting that "the political forces will hold intensive meetings in the coming hours to find common solutions to the agreement between the political parties in order to unify the Shiite house."
