On Sunday, Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi directed the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence to activate and launch the short message service (sms) in the work of national card affairs.
A statement by the ministry, a copy of which was received by Al-Nour News, stated that "this step comes by His Excellency with the aim of facilitating citizens' review of the departments that operate the national card system, where the citizen is notified about the date of printing his national card, and the possibility of receiving it from the department registered on it."
He added, "Al-Ghanimi directed an immediate response to the requests of the reviewing citizens, a good deal with them, and the provision of means to simplify the procedures for them during the review of the departments of the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence."
