The leader in the state of law, Turki Jadaan, proposed, on Sunday, three points to end the dollar exchange rate crisis and its negative repercussions on the Iraqi markets.
Jadaan said in an interview with “Information” that “the position of the rule of law was clear from the municipality in not attending the voting session on raising the dollar exchange rate, and we were proactive in confirming our position by refusing to raise the exchange rate because we are aware of its catastrophic consequences for the markets, the simple and the poor.”
He added, that his coalition "with any path that leads to reducing the financial burdens on the poor of Iraq and seeking to develop treatments that contribute to correcting the financial and economic path in the country in terms of decreasing the value of the exchange, but according to a clear constitutional framework in terms of hosting the Minister of Finance to show his point of view and what treatments are in place to support the markets In order to avoid more high prices, which burdened large segments of the Iraqi people.”
Jadaan pointed out that "economic policy must have a unified vision to save the economy and push it to diversify and seek to support the poor, who constitute more than 12 million at the present time who are below the poverty line." finished/ 25 f
